Ltd, 8-day marine chronometer, within solid brass tub with no mounts for gimbals, silvered dial of approximately 5 inch diameter signed "Elkington & Co Ltd, 73 Cheapside E.C," KWKS, fusee drive with Arnold type spring detent escapement, free-sprung bi-metallic compensation balance with blued steel helical hairspring, marked under dial "Barraud," 2/766.
CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, fine cosmetic mvt condition overall, plates somewhat darkened and with light fine scratches; excellent-plus dial with wear through to brass around perimeter which is not visible when bezel is in place, missing two dial screws; fine-plus hands with light oxide, missing seconds-hand with pinion for hand present; tub with darkened tarnish and wear to lacquer finish.
